Sofia Pernas was born in Morocco. She moved to California at age five. Her family lived mainly within Orange County. Her breakthrough came in acting after graduating from University of California San Diego in the year 2015. Pernas started her acting career with small parts on NCIS as well as Leverage. The Young and the Restless gave Pernas the part of Marisa. The actress, who left The soap after 2016 landed the role as Catalina as a regular in Jane the Virgin. She speaks four languages. She has appeared on The Brave with Hannah Rivera in addition to The Green Ghost and Secret Society of Second Born Royals. Between 2019 and 2020, she was Lexi Vaziri in Blood & Treasure. Us Weekly reported in May 2020 that Pernas was dating Justin Hartley from The Young and the Restless. This romance began in May of 2020, after Pernas divorced from her spouse Chrishell Stause. News came out in May 2021 the couple Pernas and Hartley have recently got married with a private ceremony.
