
Carol Lynley (born Carole Ann Jones, February 13, 1942 - September 3, 2019) was an American actress. She is most well-known for her role in the films Blue Denim (1959), The Poseidon Adventure (1872) as well as The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was raised in Manhattan by an Irish mother and a New England father. Prior to becoming an actor she started her modeling career as a child model. She won the Theatre World Award in 1956-57 for her performance as The Potting Shed. Lynley started her film career in the year 1958 by appearing in The Light in the Forest, a Disney film The Light in the Forest which was followed by Holiday for Lovers (1959) and Blue Denim (1959). She was nominated in 1959 for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer - Female. One year later she was again nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer - Female for the movie Blue Denim.
